David was my division officer on his first ship the USS Davidson in the early 80s. I found him very approachable and concern about the concern of his crew. Over the years I tried to reconnect with him when he was in San Diego to see what he was up to. I always like Dave for his demeanor, concern for others and overall a positive attitude. A true office and a gentleman. Rest in Peace Sir. Until we meet again.

I had the pleasure of serving with David on the Davidson. He was an Ensen when we first met. I signed off on his PQS qualifications so he could get his OSWAS. We both had talked about joining the SEALS together when we were standing watch in main control. At the time I was a petty officer and he just made LT JR grade. Sorry to hear of his passing. We are both the same age. Fair winds and calm seas shipmate. Till we meet again. God Bless

I met Dave when he was living in Hawaii. I was there on spring break with a friend, and Dave offered us the use of his car, so we could drive around the island. What kind of person lends his car to two strangers? His kindness left a lasting impression on me. I am so sad to learn that he passed away.

Just heard about Dave's passing today and my condolences to Dave's Family and Friends. He was a true officer and gentlemen! Dave and I worked together from 2008-2012 on ONE-NET in Naples Italy. He was always the consummate Site Lead, cared about the mission but cared even more about the people. He always had a dry sense of humor that I loved about him. Saw him about 6 months after his first surgery and thought he had beat his medical condition - he was such a hard fighter and I was optimistic that he would beat the odds. Will miss him dearly and hope he is in a better place. Know that Dave was loved and respected by each and everyone of his Navy and SAIC shipmates that he touched, our lives were enriched by his presence on this earth! God bless, Kevin Uhrich

We are so sorry about the loss of your loved one .the picture posted is a fine one David appears so vibrant full of life. Death is such an enemy robbing us of those who are dearest to us . Is there anything that gives solace?
There is something provided which has proved comforting for millions.
The comfort is found in an ancient book the Bible. Through it's pages it assures us that God is sensitive to our loss and our feelings. One Christian writer referred to him as "the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials" . Such comforts comes when we read of God's provision of the resurrection of many of of our loved ones, allowing us to once again enjoy their warm company. When you have time please read Jesus words recorded in the Gospel of John chapter five and verses 28,29. They will touch your heart. You may have other questions such as why do we grow old get sick and die. The Bible answers such questions.

David you will be missed my friend. I'm so glad I got to see you at the Bunker Hill reunion last year. May the Lord guide you home. WE ARE NEVER ALONE
We may never come to understand why this life is filled with such sorrow. Yet, we are constantly reminded by the tragic loss of a loved one. We sometimes feel alone in our despair. Then there are times that we marvel at the tulip pushing its way through the semi-frozen ground.
We listen to the gurgling of the water as it makes its way past the boulders in the brook. It’s a sound that fills our soul like no other. We are left breathless at the sight of the golden orange sunset that casts its light as if it came straight from heaven.
It’s only in those moments do we truly realize that we are not alone. God shows us a new beginning as with the tulip. He whispers in our ear through the gurgling of the water in the brook. And he assures us of a heavenly place by the glorious sunsets that he brings.
Are we sad at times? Yes. Are we alone? Never. We don’t know why there is such sorrow as much as we can’t explain the exhilaration that happiness brings. But know this…….we are never alone. K.C.M.
