Wolcott- John “Jack” Gabel Jr., 59, passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, June 19, 2017.

Jack was born in Waterbury, on February 11, 1958 to the late John and Mary Theresa (Notas) Gabel. He graduated from Wilby High School.

Jack enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, music, and coin collecting, as well as watching football, baseball, and basketball. But, most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his great nephew and nieces with whom he shared a home.

He was an easy going kind spirit with a heart of gold that shined for his great nieces and nephew. Although he will be missed beyond measure, his warm and loving presence will live on in the hearts of his family and the home they shared.

Jack is survived by his nieces, Rachel Norville, and her husband, Robert, and their children, Ryan; Rylee; and Raelyn, of Wolcott; Rebecca Lister, of Torrington; his nephew, Steven Lister, and his 4 children, of Wolcott.

Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sister, Joanne Lister.

Services for Jack will be held privately.
