Dover, DE – Formerly of Waterbury, Norma Elizabeth Young Connor was born December 16, 1919 in Flushing, Long Island, to parents Clarence Young and Carolyn (Carrie) Ann Young-Craig. She attended elementary and high school in New York.
Norma had two beautiful children (Cynthia A. Massey-Maia and Lynwood (Ricardo) Massey-Cardoza with her first marriage. She moved to Waterbury, Connecticut where she met and married Earl Raymond Connor. Norma and Earl had two daughters (Earlene Connor-Jackson and Doree Connor-Vann). Norma worked for many years as sales representative for Learner Shops of New York in downtown Waterbury, Connecticut. She loved music, dancing, needlework, cooking, but most of all she loved people. She and her sister (Shirley) were professional ballroom dancers during their late teens-early twenties in New York.

When God called, Norma travelled home on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from Courtland Manor Nursing Home, in Dover, DE after a long illness.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Earlene Jackson of Dover, DE. and Doree Vann of Roswell, Georgia; grandchildren Maury Maia, of Waterbury, CT. and Matthew Jackson of San Diego, CA; Korie Zappone of Waterbury, CT. and Tiffany Jackson, of West Palm Beach, FL; Joyce Massey of New Haven, CT., and Deborah Massey of Atlanta, GA. Son-in-laws, Gaston Jackson of Dover, DE, Charles David Vann of Roswell, GA and Maurice Maia of Waterbury, CT. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Earl Raymond Connor; children Cynthia Maia and Lynwood (Ricardo) Cardoza.

A private family burial will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery on Friday November 24, 2017. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06702 on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:00 A.M.

The family has requested no flowers but that donations be sent to Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or alz.org.
