Waterbury- Mrs. Adelaide Petterson, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, January 28, surrounded by her family at Laurel Woods Health Care in East Haven. She was the widow of Carmelo Quinones.
Mrs. Petterson was born October 16, 1932 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Felix Petterson and Bienvenida Colon. She had retired from the City of Waterbury, having spent 37 years working as a teacher's assistant at the Maloney School. She served as a volunteer at New Opportunities, Inc. for many years assisting the elderly and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Waterbury.
She is survived by three daughters, Adeline Stasik of FL, Tina Velez of PA and Carmelita Quinones of West Haven; one brother, Felix Petterson of FL; two sisters, Antonia Petterson of Waterbury and Rosahilda Rivera of Brooklyn, NY; six grandchildren, Samuel, Jasmine, Armando, Shilon, Angie and Diana and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, at 10:00 A.M. at the Faith Living Church 20 Grove St. in Plantsville. Burial will follow in the New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
