Obituary
Waterbury- Mrs. Agnes Arlene (Phelan) Mahoney, 91, died Tuesday, December 28, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Patrick Mahoney.
Mrs. Mahoney was born October 7, 1919 in Waterbury daughter of the late William J. and Mary (Maher) Phelan. Raised in Waterbury she had attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She had been employed at Scovill Manufacturing in the assembly division and had worked in housekeeping at the Westover School in Middlebury. Agnes was always young at heart and was an active parishioner at Sacred Heart Church where she was a Carmelite and a member of the Legion of Mary.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Mahoney of Waterbury and Michael Mahoney of Prospect; one sister, Elizabeth Nay of Watertown; one brother, William Phelan of Wallingford; two grandchildren, Matthew Mahoney and Melissa Murphy and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, at 9:15 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. to Sacred Heart Church for a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, January 2, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
