Mr. Andre S. Atger
Waterbury- Andre Samuel Atger, 82, of Blackman Rd. died Sunday at his home. He was the husband to Marie M. (Bejot) Atger.
Andre was born June 12, 1925 in France. He married his wife Marie in 1952 and worked as an accountant while living in France. He was drafted to serve in the French Army during WWII. After serving his country they came to the U.S. in 1969 and he made a career as a Butler and over the years worked for Gene Tuney, the famous Boxer and the owner of IBM, Bob Wattson, there was also a time, he and his wife worked along side of each other, as she did the cooking and he was the butler. He enjoyed working with his hands, owning many tools and always building models like ships and planes.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jimmy Atger of Waterbury, a daughter Veronique and William Velez of Waterbury, four brothers and two sister all of France, three grandchildren Natalie and Sabrina Velez and Jerome Atger. He was predeceased by a son Frederick Atger.
Arrangements: A funeral home service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main Street, Waterbury. Calling Hours will be from 6:00 P.M. until the time of service.
