Waterbury – Angel L. Nieves, 77, of Waterbury, passed away on September 7, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the loving husband of Luz (Mendoza) Nieves. Angel was born on June 10, 1944 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Pedro and Aurora (Reyes) Nieves. Angel enjoyed music, dancing, laughing, and spending time with family. Besides his wife Luz, Angel is survived by his children, Eric Hernandez, Lisa Soto, and Angel Nieves; five sisters; and five grandchildren. Calling hours are Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery.
