Waterbury – Angela Renee "Pooh" Smith, passed away surrounded by close family on Saturday, February, 27.
Angela was born on December 29, 1962, daughter of the late Wallace E. Smith, Sr and Ernestine Smith. She was raised in Hampton, VA, where she received her high school diploma. She then relocated to Waterbury where she was employed at Paradigm Healthcare Center as a CNA for 19 years. While living in Connecticut she met the love of her life, Mr. Lawrence Turner. Angela will be remembered for her love of dancing, cooking, playing cards, making people laugh and spending time with her family. Most importantly she enjoyed being a grandmother to her grandchildren and to all children she came in contact with. She was the person that everyone turned to for emotional support and guidance and would tell you how it is, and if you didn't like it "pick your feelings up and put them in your pocket".
She was the proud mother of three beautiful children, Mario Smith, De'Terrance Smith and Charmnices Smith; step-mother to the children of Lawrence Turner; she also leaves her brother, Wallace E. Smith, Jr; her niece Sinita Smith; her grandchildren De'Terrance Smith, Jr, Deayron Smith and Ja'Zeah Smith and a host of extended family and friends.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, now it is time for me to move from labor to reward.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 3, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury. Funeral services and burial will be held privately.
