Waterbury- Mr. Angelo A. Marti, 76, died Thursday, January 22 at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Carmen M. Rivera Marti.
Mr. Marti was born July 16, 1932 in Utuado, Puerto Rico son of the late Juan Marti Crespo and Juana Mercado Cruz. A former resident of Vineland, New Jersey he had worked as a Job Developer for the Farmers Home Association. In 1983 he moved to Waterbury and had been a well known and respected cook at the Dixie Restaurant in the South End.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Jose A. DeGros of Waterbury; eight daughters, Betzaida Arbona and Maritza Cintron Serrano both of Waterbury, Charlene Negrone and Lorraine Negrone both of Union City, NJ, Vivian Diaz of Naugatuck, Evelyn Iglesias, Wanda Benitez and Aracelis Virella all of Waterbury; one brother, Efrain Marti of Puerto Rico; two sisters, Juaquina Marti of Puerto Rico and Blanca Marti of Bronx, NY; many grandchildren, including, Tyson Alvarado, Sarah Holguin, Madeline Arbona and Mildred Arbona; many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Porfidrio Arbona, Jr.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 26 at 9:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Sagrado-Corazon Church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
