Obituary

Waterbury- Mr. Arthur G. Raymond, 88, formerly of Oakville, died Saturday, March 26, at Waterbury Hospital.

Mr. Raymond was born September 9, 1922 in Waterbury son of the late Karl and Magdalena Raymond. Arthur was a life long resident of Oakville until recently moving to the Village at East Farms in Waterbury. He had attended local schools and was a graduate of Watertown High School. He served honorably in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He had served as an airplane engine mechanic attached to the 31st Depot Repair Squadron and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. Following his service he had worked for the Halden Machine Co. in Thomaston until his retirement.

He is survived by two nephews, Lee R. McCray and his wife Shirley of Manchester and John T. McCray and his wife Suzanne of Torrington and one niece Madelyn Robey and her husband Fred of FL. He was predeceased by his sister, Emma Raymond McCray.

Arrangements: A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, April 5, at 11:00 A.M. at the New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.
