Waterbury – Aurea "Laury" Velez, 64, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of David P. Velez for 29 years. Aurea was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico, on July 29, 1956, daughter of Jose and Josefa (Santiago) Alabaladejo. She worked as a minister for many years. Including her beloved husband, David, Laury is survived by many siblings; and extended family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
