Cheshire- Barbara G. Stoveken, 79, died Thursday, August 25, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Robert J. Stoveken.
Mrs. Stoveken was born September 10, 1931 in Waterbury daughter of the late John and Rose Manfredi. Raised in Waterbury she had attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School class of 1949. She had been employed as a nurse's aide, retiring from the former Lakeview Convalescent Home in Cheshire after 13 years. She was an active volunteer in the community and was a communicant of the Church of the Epiphany.
She is survived by five sons, Robert K. Stoveken of Northampton, MA, Timothy J. Stoveken of New Britain, Eric W. Stoveken and his wife Deann of Torrington, Karl T. Stoveken of Claremont, NH and Walter H. Stoveken and his wife Lori of Thomaston; one brother, John "Buddy" Manfredi of West Hartford; one sister, Shirley LeMay of NY; three grandchildren, Rebecca Stoveken, Hannah Stoveken and Ryan Stoveken and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Abigail Stoveken.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, at 915 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for mass at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
