Obituary

Waterbury- Mrs. Bertha (Fields) Flakes, 92, of Colonial Ave. died Friday evening, October 5 at Crescent Manor in Waterbury. She was the widow of Willie Flakes.

Mrs. Flakes was born July 3, 1915 in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
She had been employed with New Opportunities for Waterbury and had been a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Flakes Wallace and Tracey Cooper-Jones both of Waterbury; four grandchildren, Erica Wallace, Bryan Cooper, Joel Roscoe, Jr and Daniel Jones Jr; one nephew, George Cooper and two nieces, Angenette Cooper and Shirley Cooper-James. She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Cooper and a brother, Charles Fields.

Arrangements: A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, Wolcott St. Waterbury. Burial is private. There are no calling hours. For more information or to send an online condolence visit www.berginfuneralhome.com.
