Wolcott – Mr. Bruce E. Rodgers, 63, of Wolcott, passed away on Sunday evening, January 4, 2015 at Bristol Hospital. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Judith Heninger Rodgers.
Bruce was born on February 5, 1951 in Waterbury, son of the late Frank R. Rodgers, Jr. and Constance (German) Rodgers. Bruce served honorably in the United States Army. Bruce enjoyed black powder shooting, in which he won several tournaments, riding his motorcycle with the guys, cooking and spending time with his friends and family.
Bruce is survived by his three children, Heidi Heninger, Daniel Heninger, and Karin Schwartz; four brothers and sisters, Douglas Rodgers and his wife Mickey, of MA, Patricia Rodgers and Karen Rodgers, both of Waterbury, and Thomas Rodgers of Delaware; six grandchildren, Brittany and James Heninger, Jasmine, Gabrielle and Natasha Pollard, and Benjamin Schwartz; a great grandson, Calvin Heninger; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved four-legged companion, Gizmo.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be held privately.
