Waterbury- Mrs. Carmen A. Castillo, 78, died Thursday morning, December 23. She was the widow of Rafael A. Castillo.
Mrs. Castillo was born September 15, 1932 in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic daughter of the late Victoriano Alvarez and Victoria TaVarez. She loved to play dominoes, cook and sew. She will be remembered as a happy person who loved to spend time with her family and help those in need.
She is survived by three sons, Rolando L. Castillo and Danny Castillo both of the Dominican Republic and Dennis S. Castillo of Waterbury; four daughters, Zoraida Jimenez, Elsa Castillo and Thelma Castillo all of Waterbury and Noris Castillo of the Dominican Republic; six brothers, Geraldo Alvarez, Miguel Martinez, Ramon Martinez and Abelito Martinez all of the Dominican Republic, Humberto Martinez of NY and Chilo Martinez of FL; two sisters, Paula Martinez of FL and Yolanda Alvarez of the Dominican Republic; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 28, at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church. Burial will be in the Dominican Republic. Calling hours are Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St.
