Waterbury – Mrs. Carmen A. Diaz, 88, passed away on Sunday, April 16, at her home. She was the widow of Manuel M. Diaz. Carmen was born May 29, 1934 in Juana Diza, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Gregorio Torres and Maria Belen Aviles. She is survived by one son, Hector Diaz of Waterbury; three daughters, Alma Diaz of Bridgeport, Marisol Diaz of Waterbury and Sellideth Diaz of Waterbury; eleven grandchildren, Alex, Hector, Bianca, Justin, Krystal, Jessica, Shennelle, Gisselle, Carlito, Christopher and Janet; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 24, at 11:30 A.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury. Calling hours will be held form 9:30 A.M. until time of service. Burial will follow in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
