Waterbury – Charles A. Hand, Jr., 48, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. He was the husband of Awilda (Medina) Hand. Charles was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 6, 1970 to the late Charles A. Hand, Sr. and Ethel (Bosfield) Hand. He worked for Yale New Haven Hospital in the Pathology department for 18 years. Charles is survived by his wife, Awilda; 3 sons; 2 daughters; 1 step son; 4 sisters, Midge Oliver, and her husband, Julius; Marie Couch; Erma Streety; and Celeste Hand; and 2 brothers, Nat Lawton, Jr.; and Charles Lawton. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury, with a funeral home service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
