Middlebury – Christopher J. Demirs, 52, passed away on Thursday, April 19. Chris was born August 2, 1965 in Waterbury, son of Frances (Cambino) Demirs of Watertown and the late George S. Demirs. Raised in Waterbury and Watertown he attended local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School. He received his certification as an HVAC tech from the New England Technical Institute. He had served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Chris was a knowledgeable, talented technician who will be fondly remembered for his tireless work ethic and generosity with his time. He was passionate about his work and the things he loved most. Riding his motor cycle and sharing food were favorite past times. He will be remembered most for his loyalty toward friends and family. In addition to his mother, Fran, he is survived by three brothers, Kenneth A. Demirs and his wife Joyann of Watertown, David J. Demirs and his wife Pamela of Watertown and Doug Demirs of Watertown; two sisters, Nancy Demirs of Plainville and Jennifer Gautier and her husband Francois of Martha's Vineyard; one nephew; five nieces and many close aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his brother, Peter J. Demirs whom he missed daily and held close to his heart. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
