Obituary
Waterbury - Diane C. Foley, 71, passed away peacefully at Saint Mary's Hospital on July 1, 2016. She was the loving wife of William F. Foley, Sr.
Diane was born in Waterbury, on September 10, 1944, to Gertrude (Feest) Quilter and James Quilter, Sr. She attended St. Thomas grammar school and Wilby High School.
She was married to William Foley, Sr. for 50 years. Diane worked as a home health aide, and was a loving caregiver to many over the years.
In addition to her husband, William Foley, Sr., Diane is survived by her daughter, Maura Foley Barbino, of Woodbury; her son, William Foley, Jr., of Waterbury; her daughter, Sharon Foley Blinstrubas, and her husband, Joseph Blinstrubas III, of Waterbury; her sister, Maureen Fassbender; her brother, James Quilter, and his wife, Peggy Quilter. She also leaves behind her four grandchildren, Cassandra Barbino, Melissa Barbino, Braia Blinstrubas, and Mason Blinstrubas; and several nieces and nephews.
Diane enjoyed spending time with her family and her group of close-knit friends. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends to many places, especially her favorite destination of St. Maarten. She was a long time parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church. Diane was a fun, kind, and heartwarming person, who made people feel comfortable and appreciated wherever she went. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury, on Tuesday, July 5 at 9 a.m. Meet directly at church. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury.
Diane's family would like to thank Dr's. Carlos Almeida and Robert Leventhal, Hartford Health Care workers, and the nurses and staff of Xavier 3, St. Mary's Hospital for the excellent care provided.
