Obituary
Dora Paquette Bond Heuer, 89, died peacefully, Wednesday, February 12, at the Lutheran Home in Southbury. She was the wife of 63 years to Edwin A. Heuer, also of the Lutheran Home.
Dora was born January 15, 1925 in Jewett City, daughter of the late Solomon and Evelyn Paquette. Dora moved from Jewett City to Worcester MA at an early age. She met and married Ali Bond who was a decorated war hero and was killed during World War II. She pursued a career in hairdressing and worked closely with her sister, "Ginny" until her move to CT after marrying Edwin in 1950. She then worked in Waterbury and then opened her own hairdressing salon in Southington.
Dora and Ed enjoyed a loving and happy union. After their retirement they traveled the United States in their RV finally settling in North Fort Meyers Fl. Dora was an excellent golfer, enjoyed dancing and playing cards. She also was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain. In their sixty-three years of marriage they never spent a night apart. Their life and love was of storybook quality and envied by all that knew them
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sister, Virginia Lussier of Worcester, MA; a step-daughter, Sharon Mailhot of Watertown and her three children and six grandchildren. She also leaves her loving foster son Richard Butler and his wife Donna of Wolcott, her foster son in law John of Naugatuck and their children and their grandchildren. She was predeceased by her wonderful friend and foster daughter Margaret (Peg) Butler Mascia and her brother, Royal Paquette.
Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 11:00 A.M. in the lower level of the Lutheran Home, 990 Main St. North Southbury. Burial will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury.
