Waterbury – Mr. Edwin Lopez Batista, 69, of Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Genevieve Lopez. Edwin was born on December 16, 1948 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Gonzalo Lopez and Domingo Batista. Edwin is survived by his children, Edwin A. Lopez, Luis D. Lopez, Madeline Lopez, and Linda Reyes; three grandchildren, Genevieve, Michael, and Imari; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Pedro Lopez. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 10:00 A.M. at the Shrine of St. Anne, 515 S. Main St. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
