Southbury - Edwin A. Heuer passed peacefully on March 21, 2016. He was 95. He was the beloved son of John and Lydia (Beck) Heuer and was born, raised and educated in Waterbury. After his service in the U.S. Army he trained as a toolmaker, but soon after joined his father in the family business, Heuer Bookbinding Service. After the flood of 55 the Company stayed in Waterbury until his father's death and eventually Ed moved the business to Cheshire, CT.
When retired, he and his wife Dora moved from their Southington home and traveled the US in their RV, finally settling in Fort Meyers Florida. They enjoyed retirement life and made many friends from all over the United States. In the 90's they relocated to Kent, CT to be near family and they eventually resided at The Lutheran Home in Southbury.
Ed was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Dora (Paquette) Heuer, a sister Bertha Cronin, and a brother John. He leaves his daughter Sharon Mailhot of Avon, three grand children and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves his loving Foster Son, Richard Butler (Donna) of Wolcott, who was his best friend. He was also predeceased by his Foster Daughter Peggy (John) Mascia and their families.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Edgewood Cemetery in Wolcott, CT at 10:30 AM.
