Obituary
Cheshire – Eleni Gavri, 86, of Copper Beech Dr., Cheshire passed away peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, October 11, 2014.
Eleni was born in Kimi-Evia, Greece on September 7, 1928, daughter of the late George and Katerina Kantzinos. She arrived in the US in 1961 and settled in Waterbury. She lived in Middlebury for a number of years before finally moving to Cheshire. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Waterbury. Eleni was predeceased by her husband, Xhevdet Gavri in 2000; and her son, George Gavri, in 2001.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lule and Christopher Tracey of Cheshire; a son, Victor of Trinity, Texas; and three grandchildren; Cassondra Marie Tracey, Nicholas Robert Tracey and Dimitri Gerry Tracey.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 15 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury. A Trisagion service will be held at 6:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 10:00 A.M. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 975 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will be held privately.
