Waterbury- Mrs. Elizabeth T. (O'Dea) Andrews, 97, died Thursday, November 25, at Rosegarden Health and Rehabilitation in Waterbury. She was the widow of Edward J. Andrews.
Mrs. Andrews was born July 29, 1913 in Garryfine Bruree, County Limerick, Ireland, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Dunworth) O'Dea. Mrs. Andrews immigrated to United States in 1925 and settled in Waterbury were she remained for her life. She had been employed for many years at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed spending her time with her family and grandchildren and will be remembered for her Irish wit and beautiful smile.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Beth Samela and her husband Nicholas of Little River SC and Ruth Donnelly and her husband James of Waterbury; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Edward J. Andrews, Jr; four brothers, Thomas O'Dea, John O'Dea, James O'Dea and Peter O'Dea and one sister, Mary O'Dea Shanahan.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Rosegarden Health and Rehabilitation and the Vitas Hospice for the kindness and compassionate care that their mother received.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Monday morning, November 29, at 10:30A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M.
