Waterbury – Elizabeth A. Bedard passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the loving companion of Wilbur J. Moore for over 30 years. Elizabeth was born on June 16, 1945 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Michael and Margarete (Commerford) Matakaetis. She worked as a Radiologist Tech. at many area hospitals and at Medical Imagining in Bloomfield for a number of years. Besides her companion Wilbur, Elizabeth is survived by her brother John Matakaetis; and two nieces, Kelly Radocchia and Megan Morgan. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 14 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
