Waterbury – Ernest J. Theriault III, 64, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Christine S. (Ferris) Theriault.

Born in Waterbury on March 19, 1960, Ernest was the son of Louise (Flint) Theriault and the late Ernest J. Theriault Jr. He was raised in Waterbury, attended St. Anne's Grammar School, and graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1979. He dedicated over 30 years of his career as the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor at Gem Manufacturing.

Ernest, a devoted fan of the Washington Commanders, New York Mets, and Boston Bruins, also cherished camping, the outdoors, and gardening. Above all, Ernie will be remembered for his unwavering love and dedication to his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, siblings, and extended family, always prioritizing their well-being. His infectious sense of humor, compassionate nature, and authentic ability to make others feel genuinely valued and loved will be deeply missed. He will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife Christine S. (Ferris) Theriault; his sons, Jeffrey E. Theriault and Kevin F. Theriault; his mother Louise Theriault; his sisters, Lauren (William) Lestage and Mary Lou Ciavarella; his brother-in-law Richard F. Ferris, as well as nieces, nephew, and their families who hold a special place in his heart.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 11, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W. Main St., Waterbury. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery.
