Fabian Machado Sr., 63, of Wall Street, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the owner of La Boriquas Grocery on Baldwin Street.
Fabian was born January 29, 1945 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, son to Matilde Sanchez and the late Felix Machado Sr. He enjoyed cooking and was a chef before becoming employed as a solderer for Woodbury Pewter until his retirement. Fabian loved to pass the time playing Dominoes with the Domino Club of Waterbury and was an avid sports fan of the NY Yankees. He was a member of Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church in Waterbury.
Besides his mother, Matilde Sanchez of Waterbury, he is survived by his companion, Migdalia Padilla of Waterbury, and the mother of his children, Elba Rosa of Waterbury, and their three sons; Fabian Machado Jr. of Thomaston, Antonio Machado, Adrian Machado both of Waterbury and a stepson, Joshua Berrios of Maryland. He was predeceased by a son, Noel Machado.
He will be deeply missed by his six brothers; Felix Machado Jr., Luis Machado, Demetrio Machado, Santos Machado, Johnny Machado all of Waterbury, Charlie Rosado of Fl, and five sisters; Juanita Medina of Fl, Carmen Machado-Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, Matilde Munoz and Milagros Machado both of Waterbury, Rosa Martinez of Fl, a half sister Adeline Machado of Ohio, two half brothers; Porfirio Vega of Waterbury and Julio Machado of Ohio, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and three predeceased brothers; Raul, Ernesto and Isidoro Machado.
Arrangements: A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 21 at Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church on 13 Wolcott St in Waterbury at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
