Obituary
Frederick Ferris, 97, of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Vitas Innovative Hospice Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Wadad Ferris.
Mr. Ferris was born on July 20, 1917 in Portland, Maine. He was the son of the late Ned and Selma Ferris.
Mr. Ferris was a graduate of Harvard College, Class of 1944. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during WWII, and retired as a U.S. Air Force Officer as an Air Force Major. Mr. Ferris worked as a teacher for Wolcott High School for over 30 years.
Mr. Ferris is survived by his son, Richard Ferris, of Burlington, MA; his daughter, Christine Theriault and her husband Ernest, of Waterbury; and his two grandsons, Jeffrey and Kevin, both of Waterbury.
A funeral service will be held at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St. Waterbury, on Thursday, March 5 at 10 am. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Family and friends may call from 9 to 10 am prior to the funeral service.
The family wishes to extend their greatest appreciation to Frederick's longtime and much valued homecare visiting aide, Carly Fenn and Nurse Carla Larocque.
