Waterbury- Mrs. Genevieve "Genny" Lopez, 52, died Thursday morning, August 5, at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Edwin Lopez.
Mrs. Lopez was born February 22, 1958 in Waterbury daughter of the late Aparicio and Margerita (Torres) Matos. Genny was raised in Waterbury and attended local schools, she enjoyed bingo, word puzzles and Spanish soap operas. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending her time with her family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Edwin A. Lopez and Luis D. Lopez both of Waterbury; two daughters, Linda Reyes and Madeline Lopez both of Waterbury; her special sister, Mildred "Millie" Pellot of Waterbury; one grandson Michael and one granddaughter Imari. She was predeceased by her brother, Edgar Matos.
Arrangements: Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 7, at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Calling hours are this evening (Friday) from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury.
