Waterbury- Mrs. Genevieve (Baker) Visconti, 81, of Store Ave. died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Francis A. Visconti.
Mrs. Visconti was born November 21, 1927 in Waterbury daughter of the late Victor and Margaret (Synnotte) Baker. Raised in Waterbury, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School class of 1946 and St. Francis Nursing School class of 1949. For many years she worked as a private duty nurse at Waterbury Hospital and retired in 1987 from the Waterbury Extended Care Facility in Watertown.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading and line dancing.
She is survived by one daughter, Francine Hallinan and her husband Thomas of Prospect; two granddaughters, Jennifer Hallinan-Testa and Christina Hallinan; her sister-in-law, Sarah Baker; dear friend, Betty Lozier and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Frank Visconti; two brothers, Robert Baker and Victor Baker and her sister-in-law and dear friend Angelina Norton.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, at 9:45 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. to Saints Peter and Paul Church for mass at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time to leave for mass.
