Middlebury - George H. Tracy Jr., 92 ½ , son of the late Marion and George Tracy, passed away at the home he and his wife Joan built together. "Porge," as he liked to be called, and Joan had been together for almost 71 years. Porge went to Crosby High School, then Yale University before being drafted into the U.S. Army. He played guitar in the Army with Vic Damones band while stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant after three tours. Porge was a patron life member of the NRA; life member of the Elks Club; a Shriner; an Auxiliary State Trooper; and retiree of the State of Connecticut Highway Department as a Project Engineer. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved riding his BMW motorcycle and flying his Cessera 170. He taught guitar for over 40 years and loved playing pool with his buddies. He leaves behind his wife; four children; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents; and his brother Dave. The family would like to thank the VNS of Connecticut. There are no calling hours at Porge's request. Burial is private.
