Wolcott- Mrs. Gertrude (Mayo) Cronin, 71, of Edgemont Lane, died Thursday, February 14 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Michael Cronin, Sr.

Mrs. Cronin was born October 7, 1936 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Armedia and Josephine (Roraback) Mayo. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and attended Sacred Heart High School. She had worked as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital, was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #5964 in Waterville and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by three sons, William Cronin and Michael Cronin, Jr both of Waterbury and Richard Cronin of Wolcott; one daughter, M. Arlene Mainwaring of Wolcott; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Robert Cronin.

Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 20 at 9:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, Wolcott Street, Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
