Waterbury – Mrs. Gloria Matias, 90, passed away on Saturday morning at Autumn Lake at Bucks Hill. Gloria was born July 28, 1929 in Aguada, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Evangilista Miranda and Gumercida Morales. She had worked as a seamstress until her marriage, she then found the joy of motherhood and raised her children. She is survived by her sons, Jose Matias of Waterbury, Carlos Matias of Bloomington, Minnesota, Alfonzo Matias of Waterbury and Edwin Matias of Waterbury; two sisters, Eulaulia Miranda of Orlando, FL and Nellie Ramirez of PR; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at 10:00 A.M. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
