Obituary
Waterbury – Mr. Hector M. Villanueva, Sr., 50, died on Dec. 28, 2012 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit in St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia (Arroyo) Villanueva.
Hector was born on October 14, 1962 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, son of Confezora (Rodriguez) and the late Juan Villanueva. A loving husband, father and brother, Hector was a devoted pastor and preacher, bringing Christian services to many Connecticut prison systems for over 25 years. He also hosted the "Radio Refuge" on 1380 AM for 11 years. Currently, Hector has been the pastor of the New Life of Waterbury Church on Grove St. in Waterbury for the past six years. He will always be remembered for his humorous, memorable sermons.
Besides his wife of 28 years, Hector is survived by his two sons; Hector M. Villanueva, Jr., and Antonio M. Villanueva, a daughter; Jessica S. Villanueva, all of Waterbury, five bothers, three sisters, several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Jan. 3, 2013, at the New Life of Waterbury Church, 208 Grove St., for service at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
