Waterbury- Mrs. Helen A. (Mazuroski) D'Angelo, 97, died Tuesday, July 19, at Aurora Senior Living of Bucks Hill. She was the widow of Nicholas "Gus" D'Angelo.
Mrs. D'Angelo was born April 20, 1914 in Jersey City, New Jersey, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Paterak) Mazuroski. Helen was a member and had served as president of the Catholic Ladies Guild of St. Stanislaus of Waterbury and also Bristol. She was always an active parishioner for her church, both in Waterbury and Bristol where she had also resided. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, and was known for her beautiful tulips. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by two sisters, Sophie Lucas of Naugatuck and Patricia Kadziewicz of Waterbury; two grandsons, Ronald and John D'Angelo both of Waterbury; her daughter-in-law, Joan Merritt of Waterbury, her sister-in-law, Ruth Mazuroski and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Ronald "Gus" D'Angelo, her grandson, Andrew D'Angelo, brothers, Stanley, Edward, Frank and Anthony Mazuroski and sister, Frances Kozen.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, at 10:30 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for mass of Christian burial at 11:00A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M until 10:30 A.M. Friday morning.
