WATERTOWN; Mr. Herbert H. Roncarti, 84, of Watertown passed away Saturday June 29, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Rose Marie "Dolly" (Barbieri) Roncarti.
Mr. Roncarti was born December 10, 1928 in Waterbury, a son of the late Amodeo and Clementina (Falavena) Roncarti and was a longtime Watertown resident. He attended Leavenworth High School and had worked at Eastern Color and retired after many years of service from the Waterbury Republican/American as foreman of the pressroom. Herbert proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, having been stationed in France and Germany. He was a member of the Oakville V.F.W post number 7330, the Knights of Columbus Council number 3594 of Watertown and the Graphic Communications International Union Local Number 1. Herbert enjoyed swimming and his annual fishing trips to Maine with his brothers and friends.
Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Scott M. Roncarti and his wife Kathleen of Watertown, his daughter Dawn M. Belval and her husband Paul of Thomaston, his brothers, Ronald Roncarti and his wife Donna of Southbury, Raymond Roncarti and his wife Nancy of Texas and Robert Roncarti and his wife Barbara of Louisville, KY, his grandchildren, Cassandra and Christopher Roncarti and Matthew and Ryan Belval, a great grandson, Kevin Roncarti, his sisters-in-law, Irene Roncarti, June Roncarti and Marylou Ciriello and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his devoted nephew and godson Gary Ciriello and his wife Deborah of Watertown. He was predeceased by his brothers James Roncarti, Henry Roncarti and his twin brother Alfred Roncarti.
Funeral services and burial with military honors for Mr. Roncarti will be private. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army 74 Central Avenue Waterbury, CT 06702. The Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main Street in Waterbury has care of arrangements.
