Obituary

WATERBURY — James F. Goodman, 62, of Waterbury, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Waterbury Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was the husband to Carol (DeRita) Goodman.
Mr. Goodman was born March 11, 1946, in Waterbury, son of Thomas and Louise (Crochet) Goodman.
Mr. Goodman attended St. Margaret's Grammar School and became a graduate of Crosby High School.  James was in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and served his country on two tours during Vietnam. He worked at Connecticut Light and Power for thirty-seven years as a Construction Mechanic. James was also an avid sports fan who loved the New York Yankees and Giants.
Besides his wife of thirty-seven years, he leaves three daughters, Jenn Goodman of Norwalk, Jessica and Melissa Goodman, both of Waterbury; three sisters, Mary Walsh of Waterbury, Ann O'Rourke of Naugatuck, Kathryn Goodman of Stratford; a brother-in-law, Michael R. DeRita Jr. of Waterbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Thomas Goodman and a sister Joan Shea.

Arrangements: Friends and family are asked to gather for calling hours Wednesday, April 30th at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harold Leever Clinical Research Program, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
