Obituary

Waterbury- Mr. James E. Madden, 99, died Sunday evening, March 17 surrounded by the comfort of his family, at Wolcott View Manor. He was the husband of the late Mary (Antonelli) Madden for 66 years.

Mr. Madden was born September 12, 1913 in Waterbury, son of the late John F. and Mae T. (Higgins) Madden. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School class of 1933. For 37 years he had worked as a senior production engineer at the Anaconda American Brass Company. He had served as president of American Brass Employee's Association and was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Church.

He was an avid golfer in his younger years and also enjoyed family vacations on Cape Cod. He found so much joy in spending time with his family right up until his passing on one of his favorite holidays St. Patrick's Day.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jean M. Korner of Morris and Maryann Brasche of Waterbury; eight grandchildren, Bill Korner, Dawn Campion, Deborah Lund, Edward "Misty" Brasche, Donna Brasche, Jim Korner, Tricia Harrold and Bryan Brasche; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great- great grandsons; one niece Merrie Accousti and one nephew, Mark Madden. He was predeceased by his brother, John F. Madden, Jr and his son-in-law, Milton Korner.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wolcott View Manor, his second family, and Stacey, who provided him with love and care for many years.

Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, at 10:00 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. to Saints Peter and Paul Church for Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 21, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Madden's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105-3678.
