Joan (Grady) Wagner, 93, of Naugatuck, passed away on Friday, October 23. She was the widow of Edward J. Wagner.
Joan was born on April 13, 1922, in Waterbury, to Dr. James Grady and Elizabeth (Houlihan) Grady. Joan was very involved in church, driving from Naugatuck to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception every Sunday. She loved playing cards at the Naugatuck Senior Center. Joan was an avid volunteer, donating her time as a driver for the eye bank and cancer society, and more recently, in the gift shop at St. Mary's Hospital. She was also a member of the Southern New England Pioneers of the phone company.
Joan is survived by her sons, Edward Wagner, and his wife, Therese, of Waterbury; Michael Wagner, and his wife Janet, of Wolcott; and James Wagner, and his wife Kathy, of Southington; her 11 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Millette.
Calling hours will be held Wed. Oct. 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 W. Main St. Waterbury, on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Old Saint Joseph's. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church.
