Prospect - Mr. John E. Doyle, 93, died Wednesday, January 18, at the Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of Violet (McCurdy) Doyle.

Mr. Doyle was born May 13, 1918 in Waterbury son of the late Joseph M. and Margaret (Dillon) Doyle. He retired from the International Silver Company and had served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He had been a communicant of St. Anthony Church.

He is survived by his niece Catherine Cox of Naugatuck; his nephews Peter Connelly of FL, Gary McCurdy of Willimantic and Lawrence McCurdy of Ashford. He was predeceased by his only son John F. Doyle and his brothers and sister.

Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury to St. Anthony Church in Prospect for mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. Burial with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:15 A.M. until time to leave for mass.
