Waterbury – Mr. John T. Garrity, 64, born in Waterbury on December 8, 1956, passed away peacefully at the Hartford Hospital on January 15, 2021. John loved to cook, was always ready for a smile and a joke and was very friendly. John had worked at Waterbury Hospital as a supervisor security guard for many years. John leaves behind his daughter Patricia Dutton and son-in-law Owen Dutton; his son Sean Garrity and Sean's girlfriend Rachel Maretta and his son, Ryan Garrity and daughter-in-law Shelby Garrity. He also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren Noah and Autumn Dutton. John also leaves behind his sister, Susan Dinklocker, his brother Brian Garrity, his sister-in-law Linda Garrity, his sister, Leslie Cocchiola and brother-in-law Ray Cocchiola and sister June Chery. As well as former wife Noreen Rivard Garrity and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father John Garrity and mother, Rosemarie Smalley Rogineliwicz; also his step mother, June Garrity and step father Joe Rogineliwicz and his sister Christine Merenda. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 6, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury. Burial is private.
