Obituary
Oakville- John J. Grendzinski, 46, died Thursday evening, December 6, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Karen L. (Venditti) Grendzinski.
John was born July 6, 1966 in New Britain son of Mary (Drezek) Olsen of Oxford and the late Joseph Grendzinski. John and his family settled in Oxford, he was a graduate of Seymour High School class of 1984 and had attended Waterbury State Technical College. He began his career as a mechanic working for his step-father at DJ's Alternator and Starter Service in Harwinton. In 2000 he went to work for the City of Waterbury soon advancing to Central Vehicle Maintenance, located in the Police Department, in 2001.
John was an active and loyal volunteer in the St. Mary Magdalen Parish and School community as well as the Sacred Heart High School community. He will be remembered by all those who knew him as a loving and dedicated husband and father.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his son, Jacob A. Grendzinski of Oakville; his three daughters, Kelsey L., Kimberly N. and Katie E. Grendzinski all of Oakville; his brother, Gregory Olsen of Waterbury; his sister, Susan Harris of Plantsville; his grandson, Chase; his step-Father Richard Olsen of Oxford, who helped raise John from a very young age and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 10, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville, friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St., Waterbury on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
