Glastonbury – John M. Yanchek, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, surrounded by his family. John was born in Waterbury on May 7, 1950, son of the late John and Sylvia (Durbin) Yanchek. He was a graduate of W.F. Kaynor Tech High School and worked as a tool maker for several local companies before retiring from Mark Eyelet. John also enjoyed golf and bowling. John leaves behind his children, John T. Yanchek; Jeffrey M. Yanchek; and Stephanie Yanchek; his sisters, Audrey LaChapelle; and Eva Griffin; his granddaughter, Mila; and other extended family members. Including his parents, John was predeceased by his son, Christopher Yanchek. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main Street, Waterbury, concluding with a funeral home service at 2:00 p.m.
