Waterbury – Jose (Joe) Antonio Acevedo, Jr., 47, passed away on Monday, April 9, at Waterbury Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born June 5, 1970 in Waterbury. He was the son of Lourdes M. (Tirado) Acevedo of Waterbury and Jose A. Acevedo, Sr. of Waterbury. Joe was raised in Waterbury, and he attended local schools, including Crosby High School. Joe loved break dancing, martial arts and music. He will be remembered most for his impersonations and making his family and friends laugh. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Anibal Acevedo of Texas; three sisters, Annette Rodriguez and her husband Robert, Yvette Acevedo and Nicole Antunes, all of Waterbury; his maternal grandfather, Samuel Tirado of Waterbury; his nieces and nephews, Javier, Sasha, Emily, Rachel, Alexis, Mattisyn, Alex and Rachel R. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish Shrine of St. Anne 515 S. Main St. Waterbury. Burial will be private.
