Waterbury- Mr. Jose L. Ormezzano, 63, died Saturday, February 19, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury as the result of an accident. He was the husband of Mariana (Caserez) Ormezzano.
Mr. Ormezzano was born September 28, 1947 in Buenos Aires, Argentina son of Haydee (Randaso) Martinez of Oakville and the late Jose Ormezzano. Jose immigrated to the United States from Argentina 36 years ago. He had struggled through two decades in factory jobs due to a language barrier and his limited education. He received his commercial driver's license and began a career in trucking, but a medical condition forced him to take time off. When he was ready to return to work, he drove a medical transport vehicle for Hunter's Ambulance Service, helping those who could not transport themselves to and from hospitals.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two sons, Sergio L. Ormezzano and Jorge A. Ormezzano both of Waterbury; one brother Emilio Ormezzano and his wife Ester of Waterbury; one sister, Maria Lopez of Oakville; two grandchildren, Elijah and Jocelyn and one niece and five nephews.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 25, at 9:30 A.M. at Saint John the Evangelist Church, Main Street Watertown. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, February 24, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury.
