Waterbury – Mrs. Josephine Agnes (Griffin) Conlon, 85, of Waterbury, passed away on Tuesday evening, July 30, 2013 at Wolcott View Manor. She was the widow of Mr. James Conlon.
Josephine was born on March 17, 1928 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Dunne) Griffin. Growing up in Cheshire, Josephine attended local schools and was a graduate of Croft High School in Waterbury. She was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Josephine loved to read and cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.
Josephine is survived by one son, James P. "Jay" Conlon, and his wife, Sandra, of Thomaston; four daughters, Patricia DeLeo and her husband, John, of Waterbury, Noreen Dostaler and her husband, Jeffrey, of Cobalt, Mary Lou Grendziszewski and her husband, Kenneth, of Plymouth, and Sherrie Martnick and her husband, Daniel, of Seymour; one sister, Theresa Wallace, of Wolcott; nine grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Erica, Jed, Alicia, Ryan, Michael, Jon and Olivia; five great-grandchildren, Jason, Tyler, Jade, Ella and Kylee; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wolcott View Manor, especially Rosa, for their loving care during her stay.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 5, at the Basilica of The Immaculate Conception, 74 W Main St., Waterbury. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 at the Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St.
