Naugatuck – Mr. Kirt Corbie, 67, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Kirt was born on November 9, 1956, Enid Corbie Bushnell and Lenox Corbie in Belmont, Trinidad and Tobago. Kirt was 8 of 11 children. Listed oldest to youngest, Kelvin, Dianna, Jacqueline, Glenda, Barry, Ingrid (Marva), Keith, Bryan, Deborah and Wendell. Kirt had a great love for his family and often moved to areas where family lived, like New York, Florida and Connecticut. Although Kirt was in the states for decades, he was a Trinidadian through and through and would often tell you people referred to him as Noble Kirt. Kirt was a father of 6 kids; Jemelia, Natalia, Nadia, Kurtis, Kiki Cole and Alix. His grandchildren, Isaiah, Indira, Khalil, Alana, Levi, Noah, Naomi, Jemelia Jr, Cole, Imani, Ivi, Iden, Nathan, Iris, Kingsley, Nehemiah, Juda, Jakayla, Kyle, Kashmir, Konnor, Kace, Isaiah, King, Kennedi, Kie'mylah and Kalea. Kirt was not always the easiest to deal with, but he loved family. When you see Kirt, you will always hear him talk about kids, grandkids and family. Kirt also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. We can easily write a book on his 67 years that he lived- so I ask that you share your stories with each other in remembrance of Kirt Norris Corbie. Funeral services will be held on today, December 14, at 12:00 P.M. at the House of Prayer 1245 Thomaston Ave. Waterbury. Burial is private. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
