Waterbury – Mr. Lawrence B. "Larry" Dunn, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, at Autumn Lake at Bucks Hill with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Judith A. (Gill) Dunn.
Larry was born January 30, 1937 in Waterbury, son of the late Bernard and Ann (Simon) Dunn. Raised in Waterbury he attended local schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. A standout football player, Larry played college football and then went on to play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. For thirty years he was an employee of Bristol Babcock and had served as a union representative. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Waterbury and was an active parishioner of the Church of the Epiphany in Cheshire. He will be most remembered for his love of his family and the time spent together.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Timothy J. Dunn and his wife Patricia of Waterbury and Michael L. Dunn and his wife Suzanne of Waterbury; one daughter, Maureen E. Giordano and her husband Thomas of Waterbury; one brother, Thomas Dunn of Manchester; six grandchildren, Trent, Jessica, Connor, Rylie, Elliott and Molly.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 1, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. Waterbury. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, November 2, at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Epiphany in Cheshire. Burial will be private.
