Obituary
Waterbury- Mrs. Leonor (Pabey) Velez, 89 of Alma St. died Monday, November 19 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.
Mrs. Velez was born April 23, 1918 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico daughter of the late Francisco and Palmira (Diaz) Pabey. She was a long time Waterbury resident, having moved from Puerto Rico in 1953. She spent all of her life caring for her family and had been a communicant of the former St. Cecilia's Church.
She is survived by four sons, Hipolito Velez, Jr and his wife Rosa of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Nelson E. Velez of Waterbury, Pedro L. "Pete" Velez and his wife Linda of Woodbury and Edwin Velez and his wife Aurora of Waterbury; two daughters, Milagros Velez and Nereida Velez both of Waterbury; 28 grandchildren including, Richard Cruz with whom she resided; 52 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Hiram and William Velez and a daughter Elvira Maria Velez.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 8:45 A.M. from the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St to St. Francis Church for mass at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are this evening from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
