Waterbury- Mr. Lino R. Colon, 85, became a new angel in Heaven on Sunday, January 5. He was the beloved husband of Sixta M. Colon.
Lino was born on July 30, 1928 in Coamo, Puerto Rico, son of the late Justo Colon Davila and Otilia Rivera de Colon. After moving to New York and then Connecticut, Lino and his wife settled in Waterbury, becoming parishioner of St. Cecilia's Church and then Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church. Lino always loved to cook and cherished his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Robert (Debbie), Lionel (Teresa) and Lino (Luci); grandchildren, Leslie (Juan) Poll, Lino, Marilyn, Dianna, Amber, Robert, Jonathan and Amy Colon; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Victor, Justo and Eduardo Colon; sisters, Julia Gonzalez and Carmen and Aida Colon and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Francisco Rivera and Geraldo Colon Rivera and sister, Altemia Colon Rivera.
The Colon family would like to thank the staff of Wolcott View Manor for the care and attention that was given to Lino in his final months.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 9, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Bergin Funeral Home 290 East Main St. On Friday, January 10, a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Sagrado Corazon Church, followed by prayers of committal in Calvary Cemetery.
